Portuguese international defender Pepe announced his retirement from professional football. The player shared his retirement in his social media 

Pepe began his professional career at Marítimo in Portugal before moving to Porto in 2004. He quickly established himself as a key player, helping the team win two Primeira Liga titles and a UEFA Champions League title in 2004.

In 2007, Pepe joined Real Madrid, where he spent 10 successful seasons. He won numerous titles, including three La Liga championships, two Copa del Rey trophies, and three UEFA Champions League titles.

Pepe was known for his strong defensive skills, leadership, and ability to read the game. He formed a formidable partnership with Sergio Ramos at Real Madrid, making them one of the best defensive duos in the world.

Pepe also had a successful international career with Portugal, earning 121 caps and scoring 8 goals. He represented his country at three European Championships and two World Cups, helping Portugal reach the semifinals of Euro 2012.
