Pepe began his professional career at Marítimo in Portugal before moving to Porto in 2004. He quickly established himself as a key player, helping the team win two Primeira Liga titles and a UEFA Champions League title in 2004.

In 2007, Pepe joined Real Madrid, where he spent 10 successful seasons. He won numerous titles, including three La Liga championships, two Copa del Rey trophies, and three UEFA Champions League titles.
