Enzo Fernandez signed for Chelsea as the most expensive player in English history

 

Benfica midfielder Enzo Fernandes has signed for Chelsea in the last day of winter transfer window broke the Premier League transfer record.

Enzo Fernandes has signed for English Premier League record fee £106.8m Euros and eight-and-a-half-year deal at Stamford Bridge to keep him at the club until the summer of 2031.

Previously , the record occurred when Manchester City paid £ 100 million to get Jack Grealish from Aston Villa in the 2021 summer transfer market.

Enzo joined Benfica from River Plate in the last summer transfer window.Enzo has done well for the club, scoring one goal in 17 games.

Fernandez is expected to become a rising star in the English Premier League after shining at the 2022 World Cup. The 22-year-old midfielder was named Best Young Player of the 2022 World Cup for his performances while in Qatar.

The new American owner Todd Boehly have spent hundreds of millions since buying Chelsea at the end of last season .they hope that Fernandes would lift the club from 10th place in the Premier League.
